Projet Louis
This experimental light tank had a far-from-classic layout. The engine and main transmission were located at the front, while the cooling system was in the rear. An 880-10 series engine with an inline cylinder arrangement ensured excellent mobility, and the dual-loop caterpillar propulsion system was fitted with two drive wheels. The commander and gunner were located in a compact turret with a low profile and little front and side projection. As with many French developments, the gun could be tilted vertically by raising the turret roof section above the breech. Due to time and financial constraints, the project was closed at the blueprint stage.
